Jennifer Lutz
Jennifer Lutz grew up outside of Grand Rapids and attended the University of Michigan where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. In search of warmer weather, she moved to Georgia where she taught 6th grade and received her M.Ed in K-12 School Counseling from Georgia State University. A true sun seeker, she then settled in Arizona where she served as a junior high school counselor for over a decade. With her family still in the Grand Rapids area, she was eventually compelled to return to the Mitten where she resides with her two children.
Ms. Lutz has served as one of the Freshman Center counselors since 2016 and has over 20 years of experience in education. She is passionate about the importance of positive mental health in schools and providing students with resources and building self-esteem to have the skills to navigate high school and adolescence successfully.
Riley Legge
Originally from Midland, Michigan, Riley is happy to be living back in her home state to start her career. Previously, she lived in Indiana while getting her education. She attended Taylor University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Counseling, then attended Ball State University to earn her Master’s Degree in School Counseling.
Ms. Legge enjoys traveling, any form of exercise, reaching her yearly Goodreads goal, and spending time with her friends and family. She loves working with adolescents and is passionate about giving them all the tools they need to be successful. She is so excited to join the counseling office at the Freshman Center!
Betsy Connor
Betsy is new to the Rockford Freshman Center Counseling office this year. Prior to this, she worked as the health aid in the RFC health room. Betsy grew up in Allegan, Michigan before attending college at Ferris State University. She worked in the corporate world in various positions, most recently as the Leasing and Marketing Manager for a student housing complex. Having her own children in the district she knew that RPS was where she wanted to work and made the switch. She loves working with children and is so excited to be working in the Counseling Office at RFC.
When she is not working at the school, Betsy is likely at the gym working out or teaching swim lessons, cheering on the Rams at a sporting event, or enjoying all that Rockford has to offer with her family.
